this product® was developed by a team of scientists who, in
1978 began testing dietary proteins such as casein, soy, wheat,
corn, beef, fish, egg albumin and algae. Dr. Gustavo Bounous and
his colleague Dr. Patricia
Kongshavn, at McGill University in
Montreal, showed that, by using isolate of milk serum
as the protein source in the diet of experimental animals, immune
function was enhanced.
Subsequently Bounous et al. were able to trace
this immune enhancing property or "bioactivity" of the protein mixture
to its ability to provide a rich source of glutathione precursors
(cystine), which enables the immune system to develop an optimum
response without being hampered by the accumulation of
oxiradicals.
Your Immune system or glutathione levels
operate by being fed three amino acids, Glutamate, Glycine and
Cystine. Glutamate and Glycine are derived from your daily diet,
however Cystine comes mostly from eggs, milk and cheese. In cooking of
eggs and the process used for milk/cheese the composition of Cystine is
changed to Cysteine, while still a valuable protein it no longer
functions as a food for glutathione.
This company's Research has developed a method of
extracting Cystine at its purest form, which in it's powdered
form and mixed with a liquid of your choice, will directly feed the
glutathione in your body and raise your immune system.
The
result is this product - an un-denatured whey protein isolate which preserves the
integrity and physical configuration of the native protein
molecule.
this product® was shown to differ
from other whey proteins in its effect upon the body's immune
response. Studies have shown it not only increases intracellular
levels of GSH or glutathione precursors following ingestion, but
also helps the body to build up the store of these substances inside the
cell, an effect that lasts for considerable periods
thereafter.
The Importance of
this product
Glutathione is a multifunctional
tripeptide, found in human cell tissue, which destroys free
radicals, is involved in the detoxification
of foreign compounds such as carcinogens, etc., and supports the
normal active functioning of the immune
system.
Low glutathione levels are implicated in
immune compromised individuals, neuro-degenerative diseases such as
Multiple Sclerosis, ALS, Alzheimers disease, Parkinsons
disease, atherosclerosis, hydroxylradical formation, cataracts,
damage from many pharmaceutical drugs, cancer
and poor survival rates for victims of AIDS.
Through the action of GSH transferase,
glutathione actually binds with the undesirable substances and is
thus eliminated with them in the bile or the urine, creating a need for
GSH replacement.
Mankind is also being exposed to increasing
amounts of ultraviolet radiation due to the thinning of the ozone layer.
Here again glutathione plays a key role in neutralizing the
oxiradicals produced by radiation such as the hydroxylradical which
is the most reactive radical known to chemistry.
It is therefore quite apparent that the
demand for glutathione
precursors (cystine) in the diet is increasing, given how modern
society is impacting the environment. Fortunately, through advances
in technology it is now possible to obtain and consistently preserve
in their original form, the specific cow’s milk proteins which
share with predominant human milk proteins the same extremely
rare glutathione promoting properties.
