Windows Keyboard Shortcuts
The Ctrl Key
-
CTRL+B: Bold
-
CTRL+V: Paste
-
CTRL+X: Cut
-
CTRL+I: Italic
-
CTRL+Z: Undo
-
CTRL+C: Copy

CTRL+U: Underline

CTRL+G: Opens the Go To Folder tool

CTRL+ESC: Open Start menu

CTRL+A: Select all the items in the current window

CTRL+Z: Undo the last command
The Alt Key

ALT+double click: Displays properties
-
ALT+SPACE: Displays the main window's System
menu

ALT+F4: Quit program

ALT+ENTER: Open the properties for the selected object

ALT+TAB: Switch between open programs
-
ALT+DOWN ARROW: Opens a drop-down list box
-
ALT+F6: Switch between multiple windows in the same
program

ALT+underlined letter in menu: Opens the menu
The Shift key
Hold down Shift ......:
-
+ Tab: moves to previous control in the dialog box
(Tab alone goes forward, Shift+Tab backward)

When inserting a CD-ROM, to skip auto-run. or...
While holding down Ctrl and dragging to the desktop or to a folder, creates
an instant shortcut. (Of course, you can do the same thing by clicking
and holding the right mouse button, letting go on the desktop, and choosing
"create shortcut.")

+ F10: Same as a right-click

+ Del: deletes immediately, Will Not be recoverable
at the Recycle Bin
Function Keys

F1: open help menu
-
F2: rename selected object
-
F3: (search dialog)find all files
-
F4: selects the "Go to A Different Folder" box on
the taskbar, and moves down the entries

F5: refreshes current window
-
F6: moves between panes
The Windows Key
If you have a keyboard with a "Windows" key, you
have access to many more shortcuts. Hold down the "Windows" at the same
time press the following keys:

Windows key alone: will bring up the Start Menu

+ R: will open the Run dialog box
-
+ M: will minimize all
-
+ Shift + M: will undo minimize all
-
+ E: Windows Explorer
-
+ F: find files or folders
-
+ D: minimize all open windows and show desktop
-
+ Ctrl + F: find computer
-
+ Tab: cycle through Taskbar buttons
-
+ Break: shows System Properties dialog box
